Ákos Schneider
Design culture researcher, aesthete, and Assistant Professor at MOME
MOME
Ákos Schneider is a design culture researcher, aesthete, and Assistant Professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, as well as the founder of the Research Unit of New Materialities (R.U.M.). His research focuses on the transformation of design’s role in the context of emerging human–technology relationships and posthumanism. Between 2023 and 2025, as a researcher at the Future Potentials Observatory, he examined the intersections of design and digital culture, and previously served for ten years as editor-in-chief of Designisso magazine. His recent works include: The Shape of Things to Come: Design and Speculation (The Design Journal, 2025); Towards Distributed Creativity: Understanding Generative AI in the Context of Design Philosophy and the Material Turn (Design Research Society, 2025, co-authored with Dávid Csűrös); and The Limits of Human-Centred Design: Speculative Design and the Posthuman Condition (Typotex, 2022).
