Dr. Balázs Baji
Director General of the National Institute for Sports Development and Methodology
Balázs Baji, one of Hungary’s most successful track and field athletes, won a bronze medal at the World Championships (2017, London) and a silver medal at the European Championships (2016, Amsterdam) in the 110-meter hurdles. He graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and, as part of his studies, also attended Kansas State University on a sports scholarship. He served as president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and as vice president of the Athletes’ Commission of the European Olympic Committees (EOC). At the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, he served as an ambassador and actively participated in the work of the organizing committee. During his career, he also worked at the National Sports Agency; he currently serves as director general of the National Institute for Sports Development and Methodology.
